“I love the Sligo Polo as I can wear it on the golf course but also do not have a problem wearing it out to dinner as well. Great fabric and the fit is amazing” … Mike F

“Turning a few heads and getting some comments put a smile on my face.  I’m a reaction guy.  Just ask my wife” … Anonymous

INTRODUCTION

I met Sligo around 2013 at the PGA Show in Orlando, FL.  At the time, they were a small golf apparel company with bold prints and colors.  Something not many companies were doing.  I was instantly drawn to them for their different appeal.  In 2015, Sligo was purchased by Lanctot.  Before the PGA Show this year, our conversations moved forward to promoting Sligo to the More Golf Today and ClickitGolf members as well as today’s review.

LOOKS

Sligo has so many options (Blue Force, Poolside Blue, Shore, Scorch, and Brass Collections) available in their 2020 collections, there is something for everyone.  Today, I was sent the Shane Pants and Pratt Belt from the Blue Force Collection, and the Beacon Polo from the Poolside Blue Collection.

Shane Pants

The Shane Pants are a must for any closet whether it’s for golf, a casual night out, or fancy dinner.  There are a few pair of pants in my collection that are golf pants, but they make the transition to dress pants many nights.  The stretch fabric provides ease of movement and a perfect sporty look.

  • Fabrics: Woven, 90% Polyester, 10% Elastane
  • Features: Front and back pocket.  Inseam 32
  • Technical Details: UV Protection.  Quick-dry.  Moisture Wicking. Stretch.

Pratt Belt

The Pratt Belt is an adjustable reversible belt that you cut to fit.  I love the cut to fit option because you don’t have to worry about finding the correct size for your belt.  If it’s too long, then you have that annoying excess that needs to fit through 2 loops on your pants.  Annoying.  The metallic buckle with Sligo carved out of it gives the belt an eye-catching look.

  • Fabric: Knit, 100% Polyester
  • Features: Reversible belt. Metal Clamp – Shut buckle adjustable.  Cut to fit sizing.
  • Technical Details: Reversible belt. Cut to size.

Beacon Polo

The Beacon Polo is the perfect Summer shirt on and off the course.  I mean, who can’t feel like Summer when your shirt has palm trees, birds, turtles, and sail boats?  It looks fantastic on those long Summer days and the fabric allows you to move freely and keeps you comfortable, feeling fresh all day.  I’m looking forward to pairing The Beacon Polo with a pair of flip flops.

  • Fabrics: Knit, 97% Polyester, 3% Elastane
  • Features: 3 Button placket.  Reflective logo.
  • Technical Details: UPF 30+.  Quick-dry.  Moisture wicking.

CONCLUSION

Sligo should be a company you think about when you’re looking into a new, fresh style to add to your growing golf closet.  It is truly a shame that it took me this long to try on my first set of Sligo apparel.  Don’t make the same mistake as I did.
